In 1986, Shenehom Housing Association Ltd. was formed as an Industrial Provident Society by a group of concerned parents who felt that there was no provision for their adult mentally ill children in the Borough of Richmond.
The property at 31-32 Ranelagh Avenue was converted by Richmond Upon Thames Churches Housing Trust (RUTCHT) to suit residents with enduring mental health problem and a formal management agreement was signed with Shenehom Housing Association on 5th October 1990.
Since then, Shenehom became the managing agent to RUTCHT and accepted the first four residents in December 1990. It now supports a total of 13 residents.
