In 1986, Shenehom Housing Association Ltd. was formed as an Industrial Provident Society by a group of concerned parents who felt that there was no provision for their adult mentally ill children in the Borough of Richmond. 

The property at 31-32 Ranelagh Avenue was converted by Richmond Upon Thames Churches Housing Trust (RUTCHT) to suit residents with enduring mental health problem  and a formal management agreement was signed with Shenehom Housing Association on 5^th October 1990. 

Since then, Shenehom became the managing agent to RUTCHT and accepted the first four residents in December 1990. It now supports a total of 13 residents.
