Client enquiries:
Who can apply:
We accept referrals from individuals with a history of mental illness in the age range from 20 to 65. It is likely that applicants will be looking for long term care requiring medium staff support. Generally we do not accept applications from individuals with a history of drug or alcohol abuse or a history of violence, however each application will be considered on its own merit, as we are not a specialist unit in these issues.
Whilst wheelchair entry to the house is possible at ground level, there is no provision for wheelchair access to the bedrooms on the first and second floors.
We welcome applications from any local authority but priority is given to referrals from the Richmond Borough.
How to apply:
If you would like to find out more about Shenehom, and the support we offer, please contact us by email or phone with the details to arrange an informal visit. If you are interested in making a formal application please contact your local Social Services or Community Mental Health Team to establish if Shenehom is appropriate to your needs.
Should you wish to proceed in applying for a placement at Shenehom you will need to complete an application form and arrange a visit for a chat with the staff. As the application process proceeds it will be possible to join the resident group for a meal and have an overnight stay.
After consultation with you, the residents and staff team and the Trustees, a decision is then made as to whether to proceed with a six week trial placement. If this is successful for all concerned the placement will be confirmed.
